Rainbow Bee-Eater (Merops ornatus)

These great little birds were found in most places we visited in the “top end” and were very active in the area surrounding the Wildman Wilderness lodge. In the late afternoon they could be seen chasing insects using small shrubs and the termite mounds as their launching pad.
