Crested Shrike-Tit (Falcunculus frontatus)
One of the highlights of this July weekend for me was locating this great looking bird (a first for me) then getting some reasonable images. This was a real group effort (highlighting the benefit of working with an experienced birding group), one member heard the characteristic sounds of this bird tearing off strips of bark to expose insects etc. resulting in us locating the bird high in the trees while another member used playback to lure him closer to the ground.
